*Motherboard Types

There are thousands of motherboards out there that come in various sizes. Have you got confused buy what ITX, ATX, Micro-ATX etc... are?

These are the sizes of the motherboard. you use the same terms to find a case to fit the motherboard into. For example, if you have an ATX motherboard, you need an ATX case. Some cases support different sizes of motherboards. Most motherboards you buy will probably be in the ATX family.
Another ATX motherboard type is pico ATX which is for specialized low power applications.



ATX is the most common for fast PCs. Micro-ATX for budget.

*Operating System

An operating system is a critical part of a computer. It's what make a computer useful. You're currently using an operating system to read this. They include Microsoft Windows, Apple OSX, Linux, Chrome OS and more.

The only ones you can use on your self built computer are Windows, Linux and an open source edition of Chrome OS called Chromium. It is illegal to use OSX on a non Apple device.
